Lolita Wardrobe Post 2018

I'm more than 10 years into the fashion and it's my first wardrobe post ever. :)) If you've been following me on social media, it's clear that my clothes are either obtained from thrift shopping or I make my own. I don't really do much online shopping. 95% of the clothes featured here are thrift store finds ranging from as low as 10 pesos and up to 180 pesos ($0.20 - $3.50) and a small percentage of handmade which reminds me I should be making more versatile stuff for myself lol. #designerproblems

I'm also in a process of tidying via the konmari method so everything I will show you are pieces that truly "spark joy". I've been looking into the capsule wardrobe lifestyle too but it's kinda contradicting with lolita fashion for it has a collective aspect in it. What I did is I tweaked it into something that can match my lifestyle so after decluttering and destashing my possessions, I ended up with a combined wardrobe for both lolita fashion and my everyday casual wear. Meaning, I held on to versatile pieces that I can wear in and out of lolita so I don't have to keep two separate wardrobes.

So let's begin!

Beau Crescent | Cats and Berries

Cats and strawberries are two of the few themes I think I will never outgrow of when it comes to my cute fashion choices. They can be both cute and also classic at the same time, it just depends how you use them in your style. I think it also works best if you actually love cats and strawberries in real life. It's like a personal touch, one of the many reasons why I like lolita fashion and related kei styles in general - it's always about personality. Here's two toddler kawaii/lolita looks styled by me featuring my daughter, Beau Crescent.

Beau Crescent | Strawberry Bunny

Finally, was able to work on another kawaii toddler style post with Beau featuring some of her soon-to-be outgrown clothes and items from our sponsors. Haha, I was actually on a semi-panic-mode realizing she's outgrowing some of her cute clothes that she haven't even had a chance to wear. Quick solution? Take pictures so they can freely go on her closet sale list. I'm glad I was able to do this today because this has been pushed back a lot due to idk if laziness or eternal exhaustion or both? The struggle is real! I don't know how other mommy bloggers/influencers do it consistently.

The shoot was quick.. 15 minutes? Beau's attention span is like of a dog. lol. She's not really interested posing for the camera but I think playing dress-up and taking pictures is good for toddlers to encourage creativity and boost their confidence. It would also be nice to look back on cute photos someday.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

Outfit rundown:
Summer Yukata - Labyrinth Garden | Paisley print dress - gifted | Red doll shoes c/o Light in the Box | Strawberry bag c/o Sammydress

"Cerulean Calm"

Realization: I kind of know now why my blogging has gone downhill. I can't keep up with the requirement of perfectly curating every posts. It was easier way back.. the advantages of being young, carefree and emphasis on ~living with the parents~. Life was easier so it was easier to make time for less important stuff. And by important, my life lately is mostly consumed on playing offense with financials and building assets for our family + mommy duties and doing so would need rolled sleeves and swept back hair. I'm embracing what I need to be right now though so I'm not complaining.

Last week, me and the family spent a staycation in a condo accommodation from a listing I found in AirBnb. Chic interior, yass! Perfect for a quick photoshoot because I've been meaning to shoot these dresses for a long time already. I was thinking of a forest-y location but the thought of Manila's sweltering heat kept me setting this project aside. Finally I found a pretty nice place to do this: privacy + aircon = yass pleasee! hahaha.

Hope you enjoy the photos!

"Kawaii Afternoon" - Justine Chantelle x Beau Crescent's kawaii life
